LOLLIPOP TATTOO (the sweet sounding name of a mastectomy scar) is the surreal odyssey of Eva (40), an American living in England, who learns she has breast cancer just as her younger brother has died. The difficult period she is facing turns her world and her memories upside down. The truth is: ever since she was six, Eva has faced a series of intimate and family trials that have deeply shaken her. Eight years later, Eva learns she has a second cancer and that this time a mastectomy is necessary. This final ordeal will cause her to redefine her relationship with her body, motherhood, death, and love for the rest of her life.
The film is inspired by the true story of Lisa Marie Russo. Beyond its social and healing impact, LOLLIPOP TATTOO offers a deeply human story, moving from the medical to the metaphysical environments with sincerity and vitality.
